The Trifling Pumpkin

My niece and I make this every year and it is always licked clean. Its such a simple dessert that is such an impressive looking centerpiece! Make your 3 layers and then fill your dish until your reach the top alternating layers. You can also make this in a 9x13 pans. Use remaining cool whip as top layer and crumble additional crust on top.

Crust: combine and bake for 10 minutes at 350

  • 50 gingersnap cookies

  • 5 tbsp sugar

  • 1/2 cup butter

Vanilla Layer:

  • 1 package of room temp cream cheese

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 2 packages vanilla instant jello

  • 1 pint of heavy whipping cream

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • fold in 3/4 tub of cool whip

Pumpkin Layer:

  • 1 package of room temp cream cheese

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 15 oz can of pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)

  • 1 tsp of cinnamon

  • 1 tsp of pumpkin pie spice

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • fold in 3/4 tub of cool whip
