Stuffed Shells

Stuffed Shells

One of my favorite, easy, weeknight comfort food dishes oozing with cheesy goodness! I usually use the jumbo shells, but they were out so I substituted manicotti. I definitely suggest the shells cause they are easier to stuff.

Parboil your shells for 5-6 minutes and drain well. Brown 1 pound of Italian sausage. To your browned sausage, add 1 tbsp garlic, salt/pepper, 1 tsp each of onion/garlic powder, 2 tbsp of Italian seasoning and cook for 1 minute. Take off the heat and add 1/3 cup cream cheese.

In a separate bowl, combine 1 beaten egg, 20 oz ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella, and 1/2 cup parmesan. Mix sausage mixture with cheese mixture and fill your shells.

Add a layer of marinara to your dish, layer in your shells, cover with marinara and remaining mozzarella and parmesan. Bake for 30 minutes at 350.
